One Word: Mercy

Isaiah 55:6-7 KJV

6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Micah 7:18 NIV

18 Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and forgives the transgression
of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy.
Lord, thank you for your mercy and grace, and stedfast love.

One Word: Contentment

1 Timothy 6:6 NIV

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Hebrews 13:5 NIV

5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”

One Word: Relief

One Word: Relief

Matthew 11:29

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following me as my disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls.

YES, as my dear Ken F. Pierpont was preparing to go for and ultrasound at the VA in Battle Creek this morning, I was very concerned about his going alone.

He had refused help when it was offered.

I was just starting to work on my One Word when I heard a sound from the restroom.

I waited and I did not hear more. I quickly stepped to the door and said, are you ok?

I heard Ken say, “Open the door!”

When I opened it there he was on the floor. He said he was not hurt but he was not able to get up.

I had a hard time but we were finally able to get him to his feet.

When he assured me he was, ok, I let him finish up and I called our son from across town and of course he assured me he would be here in time to take Ken for his appointment.

I prayed, and then I shared with our daughter and asked her to pray explaining the situation.

When Ken came out to have his lunch I broke the news of my decision to call Nathan and that he was coming to take him to the VA.

He looked at me with a concerned look and then his demeanor changed completely – One of relief.

Indeed I too had one of relief.

I had the assurance of a superseder, a stand-in. What a relief to me.

This getting old is hard, I’ll tell you.

But often we cause ourselves grief by trying to control things.

Now trusting the Lord’s wisdom to make the right thing happen soon to help my man.

One Word: Renewed

1 Cor. 6:19-20

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

11 Cor. 4:16

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

What a blessed reassurance.
I truly feel it every day.
Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.

One Word: Pray

Colossians 1:9-10 – English Standard Version

9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
