One Word: Encourage

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 NIV

16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

Psalm 10:17

Yes, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry.

How important it is to encourage one-another in their faith.

Isaiah 26:3

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you

One Word: Pearl

Poem by Jacqueline A Cosgrove

A Pearl For Jesus

James 1:4

But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing.

Lord, help me take the irritations
that are bound to come each day,
and let patience have it’s perfect work
as you’re teaching me your way.

As an oyster wraps a bit of sand
that would bring great harm to him-
that covering turns it into pearl-
a rare and precious gem.

So, let me take each irritation
as an opportunity,
to make a pearl for Jesus,
by covering it with charity.

One Word: Grace

2 Cor. 9:8

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

2 Tim. 1:9

9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

Unmerited favor

One Word: Glory

Rom. 3:23

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

One Word: Anger

PROV. 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Prov. 22:24-25

Do not make friends with a hot tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.

Col. 3:8

But you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

This surely does sound a reminder to all of us in this day of “free speech”. A heads up to the friends and leaders we choose.

I know personally I must guard my heart and lips even mid sentence or thoughts.

“Love help us!”

I breath a silent cry unto my Saviour “In Times Like These”.

One Word: Heir

Romans 8:17

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together

Blessed Assurance

Each and every day we sing praises to His name. We are thankful for all of the blessings that He bestows upon us. The lyrics of the classic hymn ‘Blessed Assurance’ is the perfect way to worship. And when you hear the story behind the hymn, you will be even more in awe of His amazing grace.

Thank you, Lord.

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

Chorus:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Thank You, Lord.
