One Word: Anger

PROV. 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Prov. 22:24-25

Do not make friends with a hot tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.

Col. 3:8

But you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

This surely does sound a reminder to all of us in this day of “free speech”. A heads up to the friends and leaders we choose.

I know personally I must guard my heart and lips even mid sentence or thoughts.

“Love help us!”

I breath a silent cry unto my Saviour “In Times Like These”.

One Word: Heir

Romans 8:17

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together

Fanny Crosby

Blessed Assurance

Each and every day we sing praises to His name. We are thankful for all of the blessings that He bestows upon us. The lyrics of the classic hymn ‘Blessed Assurance’ is the perfect way to worship. And when you hear the story behind the hymn, you will be even more in awe of His amazing grace.

Thank you, Lord.

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

Chorus:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Thank You, Lord.

One Word: Wisdom

JER. 29:11

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

James 3:17

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Wisdom is not necessarily intelligence or IQ.

One Word: Come

Mat. 11:28

Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy ladder, and I will give you rest.

This is such an important word.

Here it is as Christ’s comforting promise.

Like a parent holding out hands to a hurting child.

Like an invitation to comfort.

It could be and invitation to instruction or directions.

Perhaps come = “follow me, I’ll show you”.

One Word: Lamb

John 1:29b

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Think of this:

Jesus is called the Lamb of God.

Jesus is also called the Good Shepherd.

He calls us lambs and sheep.

One Word: Encouragement

1 Thessalonians 5:11
King James Version

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Jer. 29:11

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

This is a precious note from a dear man from a former ministry.

One never knows how an encouraging word can make a difference in someone’s life.

“Thank you for your ministry Pastor Ken. It helped me to clarify my relationship with our Lord Jesus. I was saved, but, quite worldly, and wasn’t “sure” I was saved. He helped me to have the confidence in my salvation. Please thank him for that!”

Also, now that we are retired after sixty years in ministry this testimony is a great encouragement to us.
