One Word: Unspoken

This is a quote from Jon Swanson’s – 300 Words.com

Subscribe to his post.

“I also understand that Jesus is remarkably clear about loving your enemies and praying for those who despitefully use you. Peter, notable for his intensity, talks about responding to people with gentleness and respect. Paul invites us to get dressed in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”

I have realized this need even more with all the opinions being voiced. Each person expressing his own opinion to a point that the other persons thoughts do not mater.

Lord Jesus, help us to say less and pray more, in love and care.

This is hard but truly my great desire.

Help me , Father, in my Unspoken Prayer.

One Word: Compassion

Luke 10:30-33 NIV

30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.

32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

Sometimes we have the choice of taking the path of least resistance or going out of our way to do what might be uncomfortable.

When compassion is shown the receiver benefits and the giver is blessed and those who witness it learn a great lesson.

Lord help us.

One Word: Thanksgiving

Why is everyone on Facebook skipping Thanksgiving? Well almost everyone!

For God so loved the world that HE Gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM will not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I am just so very Thankful for the amazing way God takes care of us by providing everyone eternal life if we choose to trust in Him as our wonderful Saviour. It is our choice.

Thank You, Lord!

One Word: Thimble

Have you ever noticed a button hanging loosely by a few threads?

Then you cannot find a needle or thread and a thimble?

Thus the old adage “A stitch in time saves nine.”

This is a photo of a few Thimble Hats that I have made.

How many of you have needed a thimble or needle and could not find it?

I always recommend that the Thimble Hat be placed beside your favorite chair where you would sit to sew on a button or do a small mending job.

These hats have the dual purpose of holding a thimble and a few needles.

In addition when I gift someone with the Thimble Hat I also give them the poem I wrote which has an added purpose of having the Thimble Hat close by.

The most important task is that of reading the Word of God daily and keeping it close by.

The Scripture that goes with the “One Word” is in the poem I wrote in the photo below.

“The Thimble Hat and The Book”

The thimble hat & the book i made this little thimble hat with lots of love and prayer just for you on this special day for your mending, so beware!

Now don’t put this in a hiding place

So you can’t find it in a hurry or you will lose that pretty button and cause lots of worry.

If you put it on a little shelf or hang it up somewhere

You will never have to look again for a needle for repairs.

So as i send this little gift i pray that you will know

That the word of god needs to be in a place where it will show

Then when you have a special need you’ll know right where to look to seek wisdom from above and find peace in the “Book”.

Isaiah 26:3-4 “He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord. Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength.” LB

“True happiness and peace do not exist apart from God”

One Word: Discernment

Acumen – ability to understand and reason – judgment.

While studying in my early college years I was writing a paper which required the frequent use of the word judgement. When I received my paper back from my instructor, to my great disappointment, every single time I wrote “judgement”, it had the proverbial red check mark over every ‘e’.

In my opinion, the instructor could have had the discernment to make a note stating “the short answer is that ‘judgment’ is the prevailing (“dominant”) spelling.”

Most import and to the point, these scriptures will support my thinking about discernment.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

The Apostle Paul encouraging believers to develop a discerning spirit.

In Philippians 1:9-10 (NIV), Paul prays,

“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.”

Here, discernment is linked to love, knowledge, and pursuing what is morally excellent. (From BibleStudyTools.com)

As you can see I never did forget to back space and delete the ‘e’ when writing. Indeed, I even type it correctly, automatically, but not without memories.

Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law

One Word: Mercy

Isaiah 55:6-7 KJV

6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Micah 7:18 NIV

18 Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and forgives the transgression
of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy.
Lord, thank you for your mercy and grace, and stedfast love.
